In Kronolit, the bioacoustic group Jata C explores the sonority and temporal dimensions of stone structures, as well as their durability and interdependence with humans, through a complex multi channel sound composition and an installation of stone slabs.

The sound materials for the composition were gathered through field recordings from various locations and quarries. The installation, as a sensory extension of human touch, functions as a stone instrument, through which the composition and the stone’s vibrations are returned to its materiality via transducers in a feedback loop. During the production, the artists collaborated with scientists in micropaleontology, geology, and physics, as well as with the project supporter Marmor Hotavlje.
